The name "aiwein" came from a Lovecraft quote—
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die
I had started to look into the etimology of the word "aeons", and the next thing I knew, I was knee-deep inside Wikitionary, and had gone through Latin, Old Latin, Proto-Italic to PIE, to emerge into Gothic through Proto-Germanic: aiweins, "eternal", was a word that, with a shave and a haircut, could pass for a proper name.
